NEW TEMPLATE

I have been looking for a template to update my blog and I think I finally found one I like.

I am not a designer at all so I have to rely on the wonderful talented folks on the web to do it for me.

I'm going to try this out one for a while and see how it works out.

You all know how much I enjoy Monique Griffith's layouts. This is one of her kits that I ordered. I just love it. The kit had a lot of tiny pieces but over all, it was so much fun to cut, & put together. I love the papers that she chooses and wish I only had half of her talent.

I used a lot of stickles and I didn't realize you need to have professional tutoring to use them well. I learned a lot but I know I still need a lot yet to learn.

The cuts for this layout are from Life's a Beach.

CHERISHED

This is a layout I worked on at my last retreat. I havne't put a title yet or photos, but plan to do complete that at my next crop. I am also going to put photos of my 6 grand-daughters in the photos. I loved the paper and it has beautiful lines of stitches on the pages.

I cut the yellow journal tag out using the Live Simply cartridge. I purchased the beautiful flowers from Michaels a while back. They are from the Recollections brand. I wish I had bought more. They really enhance the page. The butterfly embellishments were also Recollections from Michaels.

MEMORIES LAYOUT

This is a double layout that was created by one of my favorite designers, Monique Griffith. I did not buy the kit for this layout but certainly wish I had. I tried to mimic the design and it took me quite a while to get all of the paper together because it was a discotinued pack but I am so glad I was persistent. I love the layout.....I still need to add some flowers and photos, but overall, I am very please with how this layout turned out.

Happy Memorial Day and New Computer

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend. My husband and I have spent the weekend rebuilding our 6x6 walk in closet. For such a small space, you wouldn't believe the stuff we had in there. After we emptied the closet and removed the guts of the existing closet, we spent the day Saturday rebuilding it with the Closetmaid system. We went to dinner around 5:30 and after dinner finished the other side of the closet before 8:00pm. The 2nd side went much faster than the first side! Sunday and today were spent going through all the crap that was in the closet. We filled up the back of my husbands Toyota Tacoma and took it to Goodwill. We will be filling the truck later this evening with all of the trash that he is taking to the dump! Only about 1/3 of what came out of the closet has gone back in! I hope to keep it that way.

I will really be celebrating my Memorial Day next week as my son will be coming home from Iraq. He has completed his 2nd tour of duty. It will be my first time to be able to meet him and all of his buddies at their homecoming! I really miss the big lug! I was able to upload the photo above from facebook. My sone is the one on the left.

My new computer won't accept my camera card so I am unable to upload photos. I have been to 2 crops recently and have quite a few pictures to share of projects I have completed along with photos of my Fat Max that I decorated.

As soon as I get a new card I will upload the photos and share what I've been up to.

MY MOTHERS DAY GIFT

This is my Mothers Day gift! I was at a scrapbook retreat this past weekend and one of the ladies there had one of these and I just fell in love with it.

I am going to decorate the front of mine with vinyl to match the colors of my scraproom. I will post an after photo once I have finished it.

I was able to get two thirds of my supplies in there so it will be easier for me when packing for swarms and crops. I will put this to the side of me and have everything at my fingertips. I will also be able to use it in my scraproom because it is so small, I can roll it over to my work table and have access to my paper and other supplies.

BRIDAL SHOWER CARD

I made this card for a dear friend at work that is getting married next month. Her shower is tomorrow.

I want to thank Sheila at "She's a Sassy Lady" for her video from Dallas and to Melissa at "Melissa Made" for creating this spinner card. I love Sheila's videos and this one is my favorite by far. Sheila's video had such wonderful information and she slowly put the card together to show us exactly how it was done. Melissa's tutorial had the dimensions of the slider and card. Thank you both so very much.

This card is made using Lori's Garden. The background papers, the sentiment and the bird are all from Lori's Garden. I also used a little bling on the sentiment and for the birds eye. The card is a 5x7 and the slider mecahnism is 6 3/4 x 2. The inside of the slider mechanism is 5 3/4 x .55.

This cartridge was worth the $52 I spent on the cartridge. I will be using this cartridge a lot and the papers in them are so beautiful! I'm so sorry that one of the photo's is a little dard and the other a little light! I am still working on my photography....at least the card is straight!
