I found quite a few things at Big Lots this weekend. I found 2 of the Martha Stewart folding self healing mats for $4 each! I saw this mat at Michaels on Saturday as well and it was $29.99! I was very excited knowing that I had 2 of them in my car that only cost me $8! You can see the underside beneath the small items and the inside of the mat underneath everything in the photo. It is very heavy and sturdy. I have found also that it is very easy to wipe small pieces of paper off of it. If you have tried to wipe scraps off of an OLFA mat, it is very difficult to do. I think I am going to like this very much!

I found a Martha Stewart glue stick for $1. Some cute buttons for $1, the clear stamps were .50 and these cute little acrylic frames with little sayings all over them that I can put on a scrapbook page or a card.

In this photo I found the Japanese Take Out boxes and embellishments for $5! I think this is absolutely adorable. The flowers in the package alone are worth the $5. There are chipboard letters and embellishments and foam stamps and gold and silver ink.
I just happen to stumble on these 2 cuttlebug folders that I didn't already have. They were still $2. I saw a lot of the Disney collection of cuttlebug folders/dies at A.C. Moore yesterday as well and Mickey alone was $19.

This photo shows some chipboard embellishments that I found at Big Lots. They were $1.50 each.

In the midst of all of the monogramming and sewing yesterday, I even found time to work on card making....I have so little experience with it, that I went to http://www.cardcreationsbylorraine.blogspot.com/ to watch some videos. I love Lorraines cards and thought I would try to make one of her more simple cards.

I started with the "Cute as a Button" card because I just purchased the Martha Stewart button puch/embosser and I just love it.

I then went further down her blog and saw a pop up birthday card and tried to "CASE" it. I had to deviate from what Lorraine did with a cake because I didn't have one. I tried to put a cupcake in mine, (I cut out two different ones) but both of them stuck out of the bottom of the card when I closed it! LOL What I ended up doing was putting some flowers I had on the inside and it worked out much better. The cards aren't perfect, but I'm still learning and have a long way to go, but overall I am pleased with them!
